How do I find the right filter?
Start with the number on the old filter or on the tank label and type it into the finder on our home page. It checks OEM, Pleatco, Unicel and Filbur numbers plus purifier and humidifier model names.
The number on my old filter has worn off. Now what?
Measure the overall length, the outside diameter across the pleats and the size of the top and bottom openings. Compare them with the fit check on our product pages; a quarter inch matters.
Why do two cartridges with the same diameter not interchange?
Length and the core opening decide the seal. Pentair tanks use a 6" core, Hayward single cartridges a 4" one, and four-element sets use 3" cores in several lengths.
My Dyson filter looks identical to the one listed. Is it?
Check the part number on the ring. TP01-generation and HP01-generation filters look alike but carry different numbers (968126-03 vs 968125-03) and do not swap.
Swap schedule & care
How often should a pool cartridge be replaced?
Rinse when the gauge reads 8–10 psi over its clean number and replace every one to two seasons. Small Intex cartridges are usually swapped every couple of weeks in summer.
And a hot tub filter?
Rinse every two to four weeks, deep-soak every few months and replace about once a year. Two filters in rotation last longer than one working alone.
How long does an air purifier filter last?
Most HEPA filters in our line are rated for six to eight months of daily running; carbon pre-filters for two to three. Dyson TP04-generation sets for about a year.
When is a humidifier wick finished?
When the top inch turns hard, yellow or brown. In heating season that is usually every one to two months.
Can I wash a HEPA filter?
No. Water collapses the fine fibers. Brush or vacuum the outer pre-filter layer lightly between swaps instead.

Single filter or multi-pack?
The pack size is in the title and on the option buttons. Four-element pool tanks are always sold as a set of four, because the elements should be changed together.
Why can the price differ from what I see here?
Prices on this site are a snapshot from our last check. The partner store always shows the current price for your address.
Who handles returns and warranty claims?
The partner store you bought from, through your order page. It holds your purchase details and can issue a return or replacement.
